THE SPELLS, OR, DUDE WHERE'S MY CAULDRON

by MICHEAL LEON, NATHANIEL BASCH-GOULD, AND PETER DRIVAS

developed by THEE

NOV 17, 2022

London, 1606, the loading dock behind the Globe theater becomes a backdrop for a raunchy, modern romp dressed in Elizabethan garb. ‘The Spells’ is a story of authorship, appropriation, and the occult that examines Shakespeare’s legacy through a blend of slapstick comedy, stage magic, and quite a bit of blood.

It brings the audience face-to-face with literature’s foremost “bald white guy with an earring”…and it turns out — he’s kind of a shit.

WHAT WE KNOW

An American Retelling of Chekhov’s ‘Three Sisters’

adapted and devised by THEE (as SSC)

directed by MATT MACNELLY

December 04, 2014

Civilized people are their own worst enemies. In this acerbically witty, sometimes jaded, yet always hopeful new play based on Chekhov’s ‘Three Sisters,’ nine actors explore the thrills, anguish, and utter ridiculousness of every day life and relationships.

‘What We Know’ is an exploration of the beautiful yet harsh complexities of human relationships and the parallels between Chekhov’s society and our own modern American one.

Showcasing original music and characters that are part Chekhovian and part personal to the actor playing each role, this play is a fly-on-the-wall dramedy that fights ennui moment by moment.

Featuring: Matt MacNelly, Jennifer Allcott, Yvonne Cone, Michael Moreno, Sara Dobrinich, Kelsey Kurz, Jennifer Martina, Robert Davenport, Eric Chase
